Meet The Band

Jason Cartmell – Guitar and Vocals

Jason is the epitome of a classic rock guitarist who’s influences stretch from Pink Floyd to Eric Clapton, from Jimi Hendrix to Chet Atkins, and especially Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits as demonstrated by his finger-style electric guitar technique.

His early life in Ohio gave a midwestern root to his artistry and a strong connection to family and home. His passion for aviation and music has taken him all over the world, and allowed him to work with many of the greats.

Today he lives in Fort Worth Texas where he enjoys his family, his music, and sunset guitar sessions on his back porch while throwing the ball for his dog, Tucker.

Jason can be seen playing his solo show, or in either of his two bands, The Jason Cartmell Band and Rockstrocity. He also enjoys the occasional local area open mic as well as fill in work with other local bands.

Beat Box – Drums

Mr. Box was born to play, and so it began at the age of 6. He was in a drum and bugle corp at the Arlington Boys Club, and played in the concert band in junior high. His early influences included all the rock greats like John Bonham, Neil Peart, Barrymore Barlow, Buddy Rich, etc. Wanting to play like them, he got his first kit at a garage sale for $75 and it was on!

Drumming took a pause later in life as his family came along, and babies and drums didn’t mix. It didn’t take long, however, before he hooked up with a garage band in the early 2000s and kept at until they got good enough to play some gigs, and the musical break was over.

Mr. Box has been seen playing around the DFW area with multiple bands ever since, and got involved with Jason Cartmell Music in 2017. He has kept the beat with his upbeat attitude and killer rhythms ever since.

EZ. E. – Bass

Eric has extensive performance and recording experience as an electric and upright bassist including four years and two albums as bassist for a multi-CMA and Grammy winning recording artist, recordings with a Handy award winner and a Blues Foundation Award winner, and dozens of radio and television credits. Eric was influenced by the early bass legends of jazz, Motown and rock, and strives to emulate the rhythm section foundation created by these brilliant musicians.
